about the campaign
The idea began in 2015 when a group of Depeche Mode fans came across an image of a Hollywood Star with the name Depeche Mode on it. The group of friends quickly discovered that the picture was not real and that it was created by another fan. More importantly, it was also identified that at that time, the band did not indeed have a Star. The moment inspired Oscar E. Alvarez Jr to ask two questions. Why does our band not have a Star and how do they receive one. Because certainly do deserve it! And so began an 11 year journey and our band Depeche Mode will finally receive a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

See the stars, they're shining bright
The opportunity is finally here to contribute to the HOLLYWOOD STAR for our band DEPECHE MODE. The ceremony will take place in late 2027 and you are invited to attend. Depeche Mode is part of the Walk of Fame class of 2025. The announcement was made in Hollywood, Ca on June 24, 2024 by the excellent Jimmy Jam.
